After being picked up from your lodging in Moshi, you'll travel to Kilimanjaro National Park. Here, you'll communicate with your guides and start your ascent through the lush rainforest that covers Kilimanjaro's lower slopes. You can experience a mini-safari while hiking for 5–6 hours through this ancient jungle, spotting wildlife like black and white colobus monkeys. At Machame Camp (3,000 meters), where your porters will be waiting with your tents pitched, hot water prepared for bathing, and food prepared to reenergize you for the following day, you will end your day.
