National Park. Here, you communicate with your guides and start your ascent
through the lush rain forest that covers Kilimanjaro lower slopes. You can

spotting wildlife like black and white colobus monkeys. At Machame Camp (3,000
meters), where your porters will be waiting with your tents pitched, hot water
prepared for bathing, and food prepared to re energize you for the following day,
you will end your day.
Day 2 – Machame Camp – Shira Camp
Today hike is shorter than yesterday but you be up bright and early. Today,
the lush forest is replaced by scrubby moorland, creating a completely different
hiking experience. By the middle of the afternoon, you have made it to Shira
Camp, giving you time to unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Kibo
glacier from the Shira Plateau.

(4,640m), which is your first objective for the day. Following a 700m ascent to the
Lava Tower, you will gradually descend to Barranco Camp, which is located at
4,500m. You will set up camp at the picturesque Barranco Camp in the shadow
of the commanding Barranco Wall after your trek takes you through various
vegetation zones once more. Barranco, the most picturesque camp on
Kilimanjaro, will serve as your home base tonight.
Day 4 – Barranco Camp – Barafu Camp
Today, as you take on Barranco Wall for some traditional rock climbing, you get your first real taste of mountain climbing. Following this first test, you will continue
in the direction of the Karanga Valley, where you will stop for lunch. You travel
for another two to three hours after your meal until you arrive at Barafu Camp. It's
critical that you eat a substantial meal and get plenty of liquids before going to
bed this evening because you be summiting tomorrow.
Day 5 – Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Today, youre getting an early start to the day—just after midnight! As you get
dressed and organize your daypack for the adventure ahead, your climbing team
will wake you up with a cup of hot tea and a light snack for energy. Take it slow;
you be hiking in complete darkness for the next 5-7 hours. This way, you get
to Stella Point just before dawn. Your next two hours of arduous hiking will take
you to Uhuru Peak, your ultimate destination. Standing at 5,985 meters, you be
able to witness an amazing sunrise and enjoy the expansive view. Youve
succeeded! You start the ascent back down to Barafu Camp after taking
pictures and taking it all in, where you stop for lunch and some fun. You move
on down to Mweka Camp to spend the night after taking a short break.
Day 6 – Mweka Camp – Moshi
Today is a special day because you have one last breakfast up on the mountain
before you head down to the Mweka Gate. Here, you can celebrate with your
porters and guides, give them tips for their labor of love, and get your completion
certificate. After that, your driver will drive you to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha so
you can get some well-deserved rest.
