10 Days Tanzania Migration Safari and Zanzibar

Descriptions :

This is a 10-day Tanzania Migration Safari & Zanzibar tour of Tanzania’s major wildlife destinations including Arusha, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, and Zanzibar. The tour includes transfers from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha, where you will stay in a hotel for the first night. The next few days will be spent exploring Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park, with game drives, wildlife viewing, and overnight stays in mid-range lodges and luxury camps. Finally, you will fly to Zanzibar and spend two days relaxing on the beach before the tour ends.

Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha City: 55kms/1hour

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced driver guides who will escort you to Arusha Town and to your reserved hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Gran Melia Hotel on Bed and Breakfast Basis
DAY 02: Arusha City – Tarangire National Park: 120kms/2hours

After a tasty breakfast, our driver guide will pick you at your hotel together with your lunch and drive you to Tarangire for game viewing. The park is well known for large number of elephants that congregate here, as do many wildebeest and zebras. There are also significant population of impala, giraffes, eland and buffalo. Thompson’s, gazelle, Coke’s hartebeest, bohor reedbuck and both greater and lesser kudu are found here. Lion are common throughout Tarangire, as are leopard. DAY 03: Tarangire - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, our driver guide will pick you and drive to Ngorongoro Highlands ready to proceed with game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. Your driver guide will help you spot some of the many species at the crater floor teaching you about their fascinating habits and habitats. Also, this is perhaps the best place to see the big 5. DAY 04: Ngorongoro - Serengeti National Park

Following your breakfast, you will start heading to Serengeti. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you up-close look of the animals you've only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. DAY 05: Central Serengeti - Northern Serengeti National Park

Following your breakfast, you will proceed with a full day game drive viewing en route to the northern parts of Serengeti for the great migration. River crossings at Kogatende starts in August as the mega herd settles into the area. Between August- October, game viewing is at its best with river crossings causing big battle with huge crocodiles trying to hunt them. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses. DAY 06: Full Day game viewing in Northern part of Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will proceed for a full day game drive viewing the great migration at Mara area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area. The key feature is the Mara River and there is a great chance to see the herds cross the Mara River to the north on one day and back south a few days later. Please note that it can be very difficult to witness crossing and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve. DAY 07: Serengeti – Fly to Zanzibar

Following your leisurely breakfast, you will check out and drive to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. DAY 08: Full Day in Beach Hotel

Today you will have breakfast at the hotel and a full day of relaxing at the beach. Any sea sport will be organized from the hotel at an extra cost. In the evening, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the hotel. Right on the northernmost point of the island, the beach that surrounds this area is truly stunning. Azure waters and white sands are what awaits those that come here. The only drawback really is that many of the hotels have had to perch on the coral cliffs that run north from the village and as such lose their beaches at high tide. DAY 09: Full Day in Beach Hotel

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and have a full day of relaxing at the beach. Any sea sport will be organized. In the evening, enjoy dinner and your overnight stay at the hotel. Zanzibar is the majestic spice island of the Indian Ocean. These are the two main islands of Unguja and Pemba. Over centuries, different cultures have influenced Zanzibar to become what it is today. Sumerians, Assyrians, Egyptians, Phonecians, Indians, Chinese, Persians, Portuguese, Omani, Arabs, Dutch and British have settled here at one time or another and influenced the local culture into the present fusion. DAY 10: Beach Hotel – Zanzibar Airport

Depart after breakfast and drive to Stone Town for the last-minute sightseeing. Proceed to the airport for the drop off ready to catch your flight back home. That is where our Tanzania safari and beach holiday will end.
